The positive discovery about meditation is that we are focusing within our self and becoming free of negativity. Meditation techniques simply involve a process of transforming yourself, your thoughts, and recognizing the negative thoughts, and changing them into positive and peaceful thoughts.
The best attitude towards meditation is to be very patient as the mind does not always want to focus. Having a sense of expectation towards positive results can create uncomfortable pressure and thus take away the enjoyment of the experience. By practicing meditation regularly, the person whom meditates gains a wonderful sense of the self.
Meditation is a self healing process, any form of stress is a sign of our negative thinking and Dis ease within our mind. If we dont attend to dis ease in the mind we may find that chronic stress can lead to disease of the body.

Hypnosis:

A well formulated definition of hypnosis is: "A state of concurrent relaxation and concentration with an increased consciousness evoked from suggestions" Your concentration is in focus - inwards (thoughts, inner ideas or pictures, or both); or - outwards (a task, a book a movie and so on). Focus gets so narrowed that other stimuli in the environment are ignored or temporarily barred from your consciousness. Examples of everyday states of trance are; daydreaming, crosswords, absorption when reading a book, watching a movie etc. Some forms of meditation can also be considered trance-like. As a matter of fact, hypnosis is completely normal, non-magical and with predictable consequences. It's totally out of the question for a person to be mastered, manipulated or put in a trance against his/her will.

Hypnosis itself is not therapy. Instead, it is used to create a state of mind where the client and the therapist work together to bring forward inner processes (feelings, memories, images or wishes), it is these inner processes that can render the desired results. When the client is in an hypnotic state of mind, the therapist can give suggestions meant to help the client.
Hypnosis has nothing to do with magic wands and occult abilities, even if some people consider it pure magic how their symptoms simply vanished, and insights increased.

Stress Management

Stress has been defined in different ways over the years. The different techniques are suited to different personality types. While some techniques are concentrative, involving focusing, other techniques are expansive such as 'Vipassana' meditation which allows for the free flow of thoughts and their observation.
The Meditator reflects that he has often found himself to be mistaken with regard to matters that he formerly thought were certain, and resolves to sweep away all his pre-conceptions, rebuilding his knowledge from the ground up, and accepting as true only those claims which are absolutely certain. All he had previously thought he knew came to him through the senses. Through a process of methodological doubt, he withdraws completely from the senses. At any moment he could be dreaming, or his senses could be deceived either by God or by some evil demon, so he concludes that he cannot trust his senses about anything. Secure in the knowledge that his clear and distinct perceptions are guaranteed by God, the Meditator investigates material things. He clearly and distinctly perceives that the primary attribute of body is extension and that the primary qualities of body are size, shape, breadth, etc. He also derives a second proof for the existence of God from the fact that, while bodies are essentially extended, God is essentially existent. A God that does not exist is as inconceivable as a body that is not extended.
